Applies to any real photo, not limited to travel, city, or a single scene. Preserve the original subject, true colors, proportional relationships, and spatial structure, then split the entire photo along horizontal or vertical directions and rearrange the segments so that the outer contour forms a continuously advancing stepped cut edge. Each image segment still comes from the same photo, and the subject, architecture, roads, people, or scenery should maintain a traceable and continuously recognizable relationship between adjacent segments - no random scrambling. Leave narrow, clear off-white paper gaps between segments, and create a directional editing rhythm through height variation, forward/backward progression, and scale changes, making the whole photo feel like it was "cut apart and re-laid out" rather than a collage of multiple images. Add a small amount of large sans-serif headlines, very short fields, page numbers, or fine numbering to the layout. Text may cross the white space or sit close to the stepped edges, but must not obscure the subject. Keep an overall restrained travel magazine, photobook, or cultural publication tone. Overlay slight paper fiber, grain printing, ink grain, and very subtle misregistration to give the image a real printed publication texture; base the colors on the original photo without forcibly applying a fixed city palette. The core visual must be: the same real photo is continuously cut apart and reorganized through stepped edges into a rhythmic editorial layout. Avoid: neat grids, nine-square grids, random fragment collages, mixing multiple different photos, excessive text, info cards, travel postcard decorations, "original/AI image" labels, and excessive tearing effects.
