But in 99% of the cases, you can write more powerful copy by being precise. - You want your customers to visualize your product or its benefits. Examples: - “[App name]: Transform Your Content Game, effortless and powerful” - “Transform my content game” → Transform into what? Chicken Nuggets? What’s the sentence? - “Effortless and Powerful” doesn’t add any information on what the app does, it only occupies space - Better version: "Create captivating Reddit-like videos in seconds" “Ship your startup fast”** → Ship your startup in days, not weeks” “This car is super silent”** → “At 60 miles an hour, the loudest noise in the new Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock” Checklist: - Avoid buzzwords - Use numbers and units instead of generic terms (“fast” → “in days”) - Be as precise as possible, use words that will make people visualize how it feels to use your product/app #Avoid negations - Writing negations adds some mental gymnastics to the brain. We learned earlier that we need to preserve the calories, so it’s best to avoid complexity in general - It doesn’t mean you should never use negations, but it’s usually easier to read a positive sentence than a negative one. Example: - The hosting solution that won’t cost you lots of money → The cheapest hosting solution Checklist: - If you write a negation, try to think of how you could turn it into something positive Take a deep breath and proceed with this task step by step.
