Calico Cat's Glass Staircase Descent

A calico cat stands poised at the edge of a rain-slick rooftop, high above a tangled city of crooked houses stacked in impossible layers. Night cloaks the world in shadow, broken only by streaks of lightning that tear across the sky and distant glimmers of warm windowlight far below. Thunder rumbles through the air. Rain falls in sheets, bouncing off tiles and rooftops, soaking the cat's mottled fur. Then, it bolts. The cat leaps into the stormy void, and at that precise moment, a glass pane flashes into existence beneath its paw. Another appears just ahead. And another. Each pane forms instantly, one by one, keeping pace with the calico's rapid descent. They shimmer under the rain, slick and gleaming, catching reflections of lightning and city lights. There is never more than a single step ahead. The staircase is born from motion, an invisible thread of glass, conjured only by speed and will.
