This fund was designed to make approximately 12 investments annually, focusing on high-potential technology startups.
In 2018, Balderton announced the creation of its first fund dedicated to buying equity from existing shareholders of European technology startups, providing liquidity solutions for early investors and employees. In 2021, the firm expanded its offering with a dedicated growth fund, managing $680 million for growth-stage investments and an additional $600 million for early-stage investing. These raises brought Balderton's total assets under management to over $5 billion.
In 2024, Balderton raised a further $1.3 billion across its Early and Growth funds, marking the largest capital raise for a European venture capital firm at that time. This substantial funding underscores the firm's continued commitment to supporting European technology innovation.
