Change the original hard sunlight, which was more evenly distributed over the face and clothing, to a narrow, unsoftened diagonal direct light band formed by a physical shading panel outside the frame. The light band cuts across the subject from the upper right of the frame toward the lower left, illuminating only one eye near the right side of the frame, half the bridge of the nose, the adjacent cheekbone, a small portion of the lip edge, and the hand holding the bamboo basket in the center of the frame; the other half of the face, neck, and most of the clothing outside the direct light area quickly sink into deep, slightly cool-toned shadow. Exposure control: The edges of the light band must be sharp and abrupt, creating visible cut-off boundaries on the forehead, cheek, neck, and sleeves, with no soft gradient. The lit skin is pushed toward the white point, allowing slight loss of highlight detail in localized areas; shadows are noticeably deeper than in the original image, with no ambient fill light and no recovery of all shadow detail. Keep a small lit area of the background, with the rest of the background slightly darkened.
