A catastrophic flash flood, triggered by a glacier collapse, has devastated the Langtang Valley and swept through the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers. The village of Syaphru Besi in Rasuwa district has been completely destroyed. Search and rescue teams are combing through the massive debris field, where the Lhende Khola's surge has left a trail of destruction. A destroyed bridge and collapsed roads are visible. Nepali Army personnel and disaster response teams are working alongside local volunteers, using sniffer dogs to search for the missing. Displaced residents are gathered in temporary relief tents, some visibly grieving as they wait for news of their loved ones. The full scale of the disaster is still emerging, with hundreds confirmed dead and thousands still missing across Nepal and the Tibet border region.
