Cinematic Moon Repairman Matte Painting

A dramatic digital matte painting in a cinematic concept-art illustration style, richly painterly yet crisp and detailed. A colossal, heavily cratered lunar surface fills most of the frame at impossibly close range, its grey rock textured with fine painterly detail, its overall glow flickering unevenly across different regions like a failing fluorescent light, some patches bright, others dim and buzzing. A worn wooden ladder leans improbably from a quiet, sleepy city rooftop far below up into the night sky, its top propped directly against the curved lunar surface. Partway up the ladder, a small ordinary repairman in weathered overalls and a tool belt, headlamp casting a small warm pool of light, works at an open rectangular access hatch built directly into the moon's surface, hinged open like a maintenance panel, revealing tangled glowing wiring and a large flickering bulb-like core inside, a few small sparks jumping from a loose connection. His tools are laid out neatly along the ladder's rungs. Far below in the background, a distant, softly lit sleepy city skyline stretches beneath the impossibly large moon, its few lit windows and streetlights tiny and warm against the vast cool grey lunar expanse above. Dramatic scale contrast between the tiny human figure and the colossal moon, moody nocturnal blue-grey palette broken by the warm light of his headlamp and the sparking hatch, epic and quietly humorous atmosphere, wide cinematic composition.
