Charcoal Drawing of Riverbank Labor

A vertical charcoal drawing on a textured cream paper background depicts two women by a flowing riverbank. On the right, a seated woman is hunched over a rock, washing clothes next to a small bucket. Standing to her left is a different woman with a completely new face, expression, and distinct facial features, captured in an upright, confident pose with one hand on her hip. Instead of traditional attire, the standing figure is dressed in a modern, belted knee-length utility dress with rolled-up sleeves and a headscarf, holding a small object in her hand. The dramatic charcoal shading creates rich textures on their clothing, the rugged rocks, and the water's surface, all framed neatly within a fine thin border.
