The Best Ideogram Prompts

The top Ideogram prompts on Wikiprompt, from rope-knot lettering and neon signs to retro screenprint posters, plus the patterns that get text rendered right.

The Best Ideogram Prompts

Ideogram built its reputation on one thing most image models used to get wrong: text. Ask it for a poster, a logo or a neon sign with a specific word on it and the letters usually come out spelled correctly. That single strength shapes almost everything the Wikiprompt community does with it. We now index more than 80 Ideogram prompts, almost all of them images, recorded across versions from Ideogram 1.0 and 2.0 to v3 and 4.5.

The collection is small next to Midjourney or GPT Image, but it is unusually focused. If you want readable words inside a picture, this is the set to study.

What Ideogram is used for

The keywords and styles attached to these prompts tell a clear story:

  • Typography first. "Typography" is the single most frequent keyword in the set, ahead of the model name itself. "Text", "letters", "quote", "logo" and "poster" all rank high. People reach for Ideogram when the words are the point.
  • Templates over one-offs. "Template" is the third most common keyword. Many of the best prompts are written around slots like [WORD], [BRAND NAME] or [SUBJECT], so you can drop in your own text.
  • Clean and minimalist. "Minimalist", "clean", "modern", "negative space" and "white" show up again and again. Plain backgrounds give the lettering room to read.
  • Photoreal scenes with words in them. A second cluster uses Ideogram for cinematic photos where text is part of the scene: a stadium with letters on the pitch, a building with a neon sign, a title glowing in a fantasy landscape.
  • Square and wide formats. Roughly 40% of the image prompts are 1:1 and about a third are 16:9, the classic shapes for social posts, logos and banners.
  • Patterns that work

These come from the structure of the highest-rated Ideogram prompts on Wikiprompt:

  • Put the exact text in quotes. The strongest prompts write the words literally, for example huge text "[text]" written in neon [color] font or letters spell out "Fred is Back". Quoting the string tells the model this is copy to render, not a concept to interpret.
  • Describe what the letters are made of. Rope, neon tubes, flames, water, stone. Giving each letter a physical material turns plain type into an object with lighting and shadows, which is where Ideogram's output looks most designed.
  • Keep the background simple. "Against a white background", "clean background", "negative space". The fewer competing elements, the more legible and centered the lettering.
  • Name the print tradition. "1960s screenprint", "halftone dots", "off-register", "Baroque painting". A named era or technique gives the model a full visual vocabulary in a few words.
  • One phrase, one focal point. The prompts that score well ask for a single word or short line, not a paragraph. Long strings are still where spelling is most likely to slip.

  • Rope-knot typography lettering art - every letter of [WORD] is tied from a single piece of colored rope on white. A perfect showcase of material lettering, and fully reusable.
  • Modern Building with Neon Text Prompt - a building shaped like your subject with a giant neon sign on the facade. Three slots, endless brand mockups.
  • Building Logo Photo Prompt - the architectural cousin of the one above: glass, chrome and neon shaped like a logo.
  • 1960s Screenprint Poster of Pop Marley - halftone dots, limited colors and psychedelic lettering that morphs into a song title. A strong recipe for retro music posters.
  • Country Logo Prompt Template - a logo with a tagline over a landmark backdrop, colored with the country's flag. Built for travel and tourism branding.
  • Premium 3D logo sculpture render for branding - glossy 3D logo, soft shadows, floating geometry. A clean presentation shot for any [BRAND NAME].
  • Minimalist Typographic Bicycle Illustration - the scene is drawn using only the letters of the phrase "riding a bicycle". Clever calligram concept, black and white.
  • Cinematic Soccer Stadium Night Scene - giant letters on the pitch, flames and floodlights. Shows how Ideogram handles text placed inside a photoreal scene.
  • Epic Fantasy Fenerbahce Arena Scene - a club name rendered as a glowing monument in a fantasy setting, a template for sports fan art.
  • Ultra-Realistic Cinematic Editorial Portrait - the top-rated prompt in the set and proof that Ideogram is not only about text: a low-angle editorial close-up that keeps the subject's identity.
  • Flowing Water Figure in Serene Lake - any [Subject] sculpted from water against mountains and blue sky. Simple, striking, reusable.
  • Ethereal Subject-Shaped Canopy Opening to Sky - a forest canopy that opens in the shape of your subject. Negative space as the main idea.
  • Baroque Painting Prompt Template - a regal full-body portrait in Renaissance style, with slots for subject, outfit and background.
  • Surreal Donut Portal City Advertisement - a glazed donut that turns out to be a portal to a city. A good model for concept-driven food ads.
  • A quick starter recipe

Combine the patterns above into one template and swap in your own words:

[WORD] spelled out in [MATERIAL], each letter shaped by [HOW THE MATERIAL BENDS OR GLOWS], centered on a clean [COLOR] background, soft studio lighting, subtle shadows, minimalist, high detail

Start with a short word, keep the background plain, and only then try longer phrases or busier scenes. If a letter comes out wrong, shorten the text or put it in quotes before changing anything else.
