1. Don't direct in one direction in your questions.
"Compare buying and renting for my situation." Give it room to disagree.
2. Tell it who YOU are.
"I'm an engineer. I understand the technical side, but I've never sold anything."
3. Click the links it gives you. Yes, actually open them. Check whether the source says what ChatGPT claims it says. A link isn't proof by itself.
4. Start with (only) 3 rules in one prompt.
"3 paragraphs. Under 150 words."
5. If you have more than 3 rules for one task, ask in 2 different prompts.
Get the draft first. Then: "Now check your draft against these rules."
6. Say what you want help with.
"My open rate dropped. Help me figure out why."
7. Let it ask YOU questions.
"Ask me what you need before you answer."
8. Don't settle for yes or no.
"Which is better for me, A or B? Here's what matters to me."
9. Give it the numbers.
"My open rate went from 40% to 25%."
10. Tell it what DIDN'T change.
"Same day. Same time. Same format."
11. Forget the old prompting rules. It doesn't work on the new models anymore.
Put that in the prompt: What's the task? Who's it for? What does a useful answer need to include?
